Gopro just posted a video that could be early teaser for new products, Gopro V. “Land, Air and Sea – A Virtual Reality Experience”. It is really immersive!
GoPro is building a virtual reality camera for some time. Camera that captures your adventures in full 360 degrees. This really let people experience your adventures as if they were right there with you.
For this matter GoPro just acquired company called Kolor. And for now it is the only company that can stream a virtual reality video to any browser or mobile phone. Now GoPro is putin some videos online and starts mentioning Virtual Reality Experience. Soon GoPro videos will be available on VR headsets like the Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR as well.
Why bother doing this, GoPro isn’t a video production company. They sells cameras for people to capture video themselves. New camera will be ready soon, later this year.
Gopro as a company was built around the idea of a new, wider, immersive perspective. What could be wider and more immersive than this? Spherical videos that let you see all around you, as somebody is sitting next to you?
